Olympics concluded just 3 weeks before the start of Eurovolley 2021, with Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland hosting championships. In this edition of championship, top 4 teams from each pool will qualify into the knockout phase. With some teams taking a longer break than some of the teams who just finished Olympics, it will be an interesting championship to watch.

Pool A
Poland
Belgium
Serbia
Ukraine
Greece
Portugal

Pool A is very stack with teams like Poland and Serbia being the elite of the group and we have Greece, Belgium and Portugal along with Ukraine battling for the last two spot of the knockout phase. Greece, Belgium and Ukraine all qualify to the knockout phase in 2019. Although we haven't seen a lot of continental and international matches from those team, I think Belgium is slightly stronger than Greece, Ukraine and Portugal. The last place of the pool will be a battle between Greece, Ukraine and Portugal.

Pool B
Czech Republic
Italy
Slovenia
Bulgaria
Belarus
Montenegro

Pool B, we have four team that qualified into the knockout phase in 2019. Italy, Bulgaria and Slovenia are very likely to qualify through the knockout phase with Czech Republic having a stronger continental present and track record than team like Belarus and Montenegro.

Pool C
Finland
Russia
Netherlands
Turkey
Spain
North Macedonia

Pool C has one of the more competitive pool, with Russia being the clear strongest in the pool. With Finland, Netherlands, Turkey and Spain fighting for the remaining 3 spots. Although North Macedonia is lesser known volleyball nation in Europe, North Macedonia can still be competitive with some of the other teams. I think Turkey, Finland and Netherlands have a higher chance to qualify through the preliminary phase.

Pool D
Estonia
Latvia
France
Germany
Slovakia
Croatia

Pool D is relatively as easier pool with France the Olympics Champions and Germany being the top of the group. Slovakia and Croatia having more named players playing in big leagues across Europe, I think that Slovakia and Croatia will qualify for the third and fourth spot in the pool with Estonia and Latvia running along in the pool.

With some of the teams coming back from Olympics, I would assume some of the more known players might not participate in the European championships and there is a chance for other countries to the crown and become the European Champions.

@JohnSuen Actually, French players said in one of the hundreds interviews they gave in France that they won't send a B team for the European Championships and that they will be here for the win. But this time we have an easy pool for once. I don't know for Russia though. Other nations lost before the semis so they should are enough rest and be eager for revenge. My rankings in order :

Pool A : Poland - Serbia - Ukraine - Belgium

Pool B : Slovenia - Italy - Bulgaria - Czech Republic

Pool C : Russia - Netherlands - Turkey - Finland

Pool D : France - Germany - Latvia - Estonia

I just don’t know which team will play their full team and which team will take a break. I wrote that down because I am unsure of how Italy, Poland, Russia and France will decide, as we all saw how Italy just pull their youngster to VNL and prepare Olympic close doors.  So, there really isn’t anything guarantee for those teams, but thanks god France decided to try play Euros 2021 ???
