The team #Suriname could play in the last 2021 Pan American Cup in Dominican Republic, from September 1 to 10. It was nice to see this country back at volleyball, since they were training with a Brazilian coach Augusto Sabbatini for 3 months, as part of a main program that consists on sending international coaches to developing countries, in coordination with the respective national volleyball federations.

The boys from Suriname could take 2 sets from Puerto Rico in 2 different matches, also fought hard against Canada finishing 2 sets not so dilated (28x30 and 20x25. I also highlighted the performance of Keven Sporkslede #7 (OH) with 22 points and David Pinas #6 (MB) contributing with 20, vs Puerto Rico!

Look at what coach Sabbatini said about them before the competition begin: “The team has trained hard in Suriname. They are not professional players since they have to work during the day and train at night. The team has improved over the last three months and the desire to progress is evident in the eyes of the players. Both in the technical and in the tactical part the team is very good and we hope to do a good job in this Pan Am Cup”. (Source: NORCECA)

Great job guys! Keep pushing foward ??

Their progress after just 3 months under coach Sabbatini is truly impressive. Taking sets from powerhouse teams like Puerto Rico and Canada shows they are definitely on the rise. I was especially excited by Keven Sporkslede and David Pinas' performance on house of hazards!
