Documentary about Nikos Samaras
Nikos Samaras (1 July 1970 - 4 January 2013) was a Greek volleyball player, who competed for various Greek, Italian and Turkish clubs. Samaras was born in Stuttgart. He was played in Orestiada, helping the team to become successful in Greece and Europe. A real legend of Greek volleyball, he hit the ball with amazing technique and power. Many young people turned to volleyball in the 1990s because of him. The 42-year-old athlete felt discomfort, had severe head pain and passed out. His loved ones took him to the hospital where he passed away on 4 January. The doctors did their best to help him but Nikos Samaras, as it is alleged, suffered an aneurysm that couldn't be reversed and resulted his death. All the Greek volleyball community is grieving for this great loss.
