Boskan with Montenegro World League 2015 selection

Montenegrin head coach Slobodan Boskan has picked 25 players to participate in the selection process to represent the Balkan nation in its first appearance in the FIVB Volleyball World League.

Speaking about Montenegro's campaign in the 2015 edition of the World League, which will kick off on June 12, Boskan said: "It is with great excitement that I look forward to starting the 2015 World League as the coach of the national team of  Montenegro. For me, this is the first time I participate in the World League as a coach. We have respect for our opponents, but I firmly believe that we will give our best to win against every team in our group."

Montenegro captain Vojin Cacic added: "I am really looking forward to playing in the World League, because that is going to be a new experience for me and my team-mates. It's a good thing that one of the tournaments is going to be played in Montenegro, a chance for us to have a little home court advantage and support from our fans. Even so, we are debuting in this competition. We will do our best and try to finish the tournaments at the top of our group."

Speaking about Montenegro's historic first participation in the FIVB's premier annual competition for men's national teams, Montenegro Volleyball Federation President Cvetko Pajkovic said: "Winning the gold medal in the Euroleague competition represents the biggest success in the history of Montenegrin volleyball. This is a result of the hard work put in by the players, coaching staff, the national federation and the presidency of the national federation of Montenegro.

"The FIVB's decision to award Montenegro a berth in the competition is a great honour and pleasure, but also a huge commitment because of the numerous conditions to be met in the organisation of the competition.

"We'll do everything to create the necessary conditions and present Montenegro in the World League in the best possible way, both on the playing side of things and in the organisation of the event, to achieve the best possible results. We will also take advantage of our participation in the World League to promote men's and women's volleyball in the country."

"The federation has agreed to host a tournament from June 12-14, because the event will enable the Montenegrin public to experience one of the biggest volleyball competitions in the world.

"We hope that this will be a challenge for the audience as well, and that we will fill the stands at the Moraca Sports Centre."
