It was a tough roller-coaster semifinal match between Poland and Brazil in Brno. Kochanowski became the best scorer of the match with 21 points, including four kill blocks and two aces. He said: "Today’s result is a step we had to make before the last step tomorrow. The first two sets were great. If we had played like this the entire match, it would have been 3-0. But we started to play worse and worse during the match and fortunately in the fifth set we found the energy that we had at the beginning of the match and we won".
