The new head coach of Italian men Volleyball “Azzurri” Ferdinando De Giorgi has called back 16 men to training in Mantua to prepare for the upcoming Friendly matches against Belgium in 25th and 26th of August and European Championship in early September.
Only 6 of the 12 members of Tokyo Olympic team made a return to the continental championships. with Juantorena ending his national team career, and Zaytsev recovering from an injury, De Giorgi decided to bring in a younger generation, in preparation for a generation change for the “Azzurri”.
