Slovakia claimed the second Group G spot for the FIVB World League Final Four in Bursa as they stopped the winning streak of China with a straight-sets (25:20, 25:23, 25:20) win on their home court in Kosice, giving coach Flavio Gulinelli a present for his 56th birthday. Lubos Kostolani was the top scorer for Slovakia with 14 points, which was matched by China’s Weijun Zhong. Slovakia had the advantage in blocks (7-3) and serves (4-2). Flavio Gulinelli, head coach of Slovakia said: "We played a very consistent match and our performance was much better, like in our first match against Puerto Rico. I am very satisfied they were in condition to get the Chinese reception into difficulties and also our block and defence was very good. I am very glad that we booked a ticket to the Final Four also with some young players."
