I really like Nikolov yesterday, more than the Nikolov of the first match (when he was named MVP). I think this was his best match in the semifinal.
His only fault was the error in serve at 23-24 for Macerata at the second set (if I'm not wrong)

Wijsman unfortunally is definitly under his normal level, you're absolutly right Zyta, he usually closes almost all the difficult situation he had the chance to close, instead this time he committed so many errors and often in important moment, for exemple after an incredible and long really he shot the ball out... and at the beginning of the match he sent a lot of serve on the net.
the stats: attack 35% (12 /34), blocked 7 times e 4 errors...

But also Mastro these last two matches didn't play very well...mistakes in attacks and not very consistent in block.

And you are right, even if probably Parodi would add something to Cuneo, his absence is not the reason (or at least the main reason) of Cuneo problems: they aren't blocking well as usually. And their attacks is not really effective (while Macerata had really high stats).

Macerata deserved to win, was more lucid, more focused, and the way they won the tie-break... just unbeliveble!! (and I cheers Cuneo, so...). Difficult to say who didn't play wel in Maceratal... amazing Savani, Omrcen and Conte...

Cuneo also when won the sets wasn't brilliant as usually, expecially with Wijsman and Mastro. Henno, Nikolov and also Patriarca played very well, Volkov did great thing and stupid errors. not a big difference with the last match...

I actually recognized the real Cuneo at the beginning of tie break and in few other moments... I think that if they fight with Macerata in this way even playing not at the top, if Wijsman and Mastro will come back they can win again. But at the moment Macerata seems to be stronger.

ah, also this match both the teams defended very well, but again Macerata gave something more.

If it was my choice I would always prefer Conte=), I think that Martino can be better than him but in this last period he is not motivated, instead Conte plays with a lot of enthusiasm, so he became a better choice=)

there are still rumors about Giuliani going to Macerata, and Zenit Kazan offered a huge amount of money for Juantorena, even if he had a very long contract with Trento (700.000 euro/year, plus the price to buy him). But seems that Juantorena won't leave Trento...

just amazing! how a man can change a match by himself! ps so wird seeing Grbic playing with them! I got so used to see him in Cuneo! (but I wasn't surprised he closed the match with an attack!) and Winiarski too! And Vibo Valentia coach was Nicolas Uriarte's father... I enjoied it so much!

just amazing! I would like to see his serve run against Vibo Valentia (the commentator mentioned it), that time he realized 9 aces in the whole match and an incredible serve run.

really impressive!! And doing this he beat the italian record of aces in a serve run, with 7 aces (5 in a row). Tre prevoius record was maden by Juantorena, he realized "only" 6 aces in a serve run =)

ahah poor Raphael! at the end he said that Bruno laugh with him "don't worry, fortunally your wife is already pregnant!" =)

also Berezhko won't (probably) play at the WL. He probably needs a surgery to fix his knee/knees.

ah, in the first set Trento commetted just 2 errors, while Modena commetted 9 errors... and beside this, they won 25-21!

It seems that Raphael will stay in Trento another year (!!!), so in that case there will probably be news just for the MBs ( may be Mitar Djuric).
If Raphael will stay, probably Travica will go in Macerata (and Vermiglio???)

rumors about Horstink in Modena to replace Berezhko, that left the team to come back in Russia and be operetad on his knees (or knee, I don't know..).

Jrios, is Juantorena, this year in Trento-Cuneo 3-0 [regoular season]=) (you can also find the movie in this website, is something like "Cuneo vs Juantorena). 6 aces on 9 serve, if I'm not wrong (and 9 aces in the whole match, i think...)

at the end of that match Stoytchev said he had seen someone serve in that way just once, and it was Kaiyziski (so you got close?)

I don't know if Macerata is thinking to use Conte as a titolar, actually at the beginning of the season he was thought to be Savani sobstitute (in fact they have similar characteristic, like good serve and good attack, not being excelent receivers). so I imagine they will look for someone with good skill in receiving like Martino was (in fact the natural sobstitute for Martino should be Parodi, but he signed with Cuneo)

As Zyta said, kaiyziski and also Juantorena serve quite well (Juantorena not at the top, but no bad...), but Modena received (and defended) very very well!
I've never seen this year a team able to beat Trento 25-8! They were completly lost in the third set, even when they lost with Cuneo they played better.
I woudn't said that this is the worst match they lost this year just because they lost 2 final 3-0...
